Product:  All product lines with Electrical and Electronic parts.

Assignments: Selected for multiple projects: Originally hired by MOD Div. to participate in the update of all Bio-Rad’s documentation to meet the European Standard EN50581, for RoHS compliance, the International Standard for Restriction of Hazardous Substances. The Scope of this work was to identify compliance status of all materials, parts, components and processes. Worked with engineers, vendors, buyers, suppliers, and also researched on the Web to establish that materials and components used were RoHS compliant - obtained Certificates of Compliance as required – or established equiv. substitutes and/or solutions – updated existing documentation for RoHS Compliance. Next, was recruited by the GXD Div. to help with the ERP/MRP migration from INFOR PLM to SAP. Had many duties and in most cases was responsible for tracking and coordinating projects and maintaining spreadsheets. Involved in validating the success of the SAP migration Mock Tests, and participating and contributing ideas and solutions in various groups charged with different aspects of the SAP migration process including R&D Eng., QA and IT. Worked on the creation of the Bio-Rad 800+ custom SW Toolbox parts, on fixing the product references and other SW file issues interfering with migration, and on coding of the 6000+ SW and associated files for data migration. Updated documentation as required and generated and incorporated engineering change notices. SunPower Corporation, Richmond, CA (Contract)     09/2010 – 01/2013

Product: Design and manufacture of the Oasis Tracker, SunPower’s flagship product line for utility scale Power Plants.

Assignments: Created and maintained accurate dynamic Solidworks models, of the Oasis Horizontal Trackers, for the R&D engineering team. Took the initiative to organize and then successfully managed the Solidworks PDM vault. My high quality mechanical drawings were instrumental in raising the overall level of the Oasis documentation to production and ANSI-Y14.5 Standards. The R&D team grew to rely on my expertise as a valuable source of information and feedback regarding correct documentation procedures and standard. I spearheaded the complicated project of developing the Autocad Field Assembly Installation documentation for the Trackers. By applying my creative and problem solving skills, to deal with multiple stake holders across the company, I was able to overcome numerous technical and personal obstacles, resulting in the delivery of an exceptional, well received, and timely product package. Using my Solidworks skills innovatively, I created specialized, dynamic, multi-axis Tracker assemblies that were used in shading, slope, and other environmental studies. Collaborated with test engineers in developing cost effective test fixtures used to simulate various environmental stresses for the evaluation of the product’s performance and life span. Was one of the first to come up to speed on the Arena ERP/MRP System. Effectively used Arena to generate: BOM’s, ECO/ECR’s, SCD’s and for management of the documentation database. Upgraded SunPower’s Solidworks Drawing Templates.

 

Applied Materials, Fairfield, CA10/2004 – 05/2009

Product: Design and manufacture of Multi-ton thin film glass deposition equipment for the architectural, solar and automotive glass markets.

Assignments: Provided effective component and system design for AMAT’s Coating Technologies Global Custom and Standard products as directed by the engineering staff. Worked effectively and cohesively with AMAT’s complex systems including high vacuum, plasma, gas, hydraulics, piping, electrical, pumping, robotics weldments and fine machine design. Participated in the process of translating system and component designs, in Metric or English, or a combination there of, which required working closely with vendors to locate and qualify comparable materials and components as needed. Developed successful design and technical solutions while meeting established guidelines, safety and quality targets per provided design requirements, specifications, and analysis. Utilizing a high level of communication skills I was effective in formalizing the design requirements to achieve clear and accurate documentation, insuring cost effectiveness, manufacturability, and reliability. Developed environmentally controlled tent enclosures for different processes. Performed all tasks using Solidworks.

Product: Electronic Modular Voting Systems including: Touch screen and audio capable Voting Machines and Opto-Electronic Ballot Counters, Readers and Tabulators.

Assignments:  Responsible for all design/drafting tasks, ECO Coordination, Document Control and Checking. Updated and maintained all aspects of current and new product design and documentation, including optical, electrical and mechanical, using Solidworks and Autocad. Researched, modeled and documented commercial parts and maintained database. Performed assembly and testing of R&D parts, created fixtures for test and manufacturability as well as contributing and incorporating design solutions as needed.

Onix Microsystems, Richmond, CA    01/2001 – 06/2002

Product:  MEMS-Based Fiber Optic Switches for the Telecommunications Industry.

Assignments:  As part of the operations team, in a small startup company, I was responsible for wearing many hats. I   designed and detailed parts for all phases of the product line from machined parts for packaging, optics, MEMS, assemblies, substrates, to fixtures and tooling using Autocad and Solidworks. I generating the SolidWorks models and created the formal product documentation packages. I did ECO Coordination and changes using the Agile EDM/PDM System. I also functioned as Document Control Coordinator as well as maintaining the SolidWorks Database. I was instrumental in the development and implementation of the documentation and numbering system as well as setting up the bar-code labeling system to be tracked by the Encore (ERP) system. Also I provided SolidWorks and Agile training to the engineering group.
